Muslims: Is it haram for us to alter the color of our hair?

Muslims: Is it haram for us to alter the color of our hair?Muslims: Is it haram for us to alter the color of our hair?
Altering the color of hair is forbidden if it's to deceive. Let's say you're single, and a man comes to ask you for your hand, thinking you are 35 when you're actually 40, 45.. then that is forbidden. Same thing applies for men.

But let's say you're married: to dye your hair, in this case, is permissible, because your husband knows you well, and also you're doing it for him.

Also, keep in mind that altering the color of hair is only permissible when you're changing it to natural colors - the colors God created for us like yellow, red, brown etc.. not green or blue.

And God knows best.

EDIT: women should be wearing hijab anyways (i.e. covering their hair).. so changing your hair will really affect nothing. So you would be really doing it either for yourself or your husband/family, which is fine. If you dont wear a hijab, changing the color of your hair should be the least of your concerns (and I say this in a non-judgemental, non-threatening way)

As for men, the Muslims back then used to put Red henna before fighting, so that people may recognize that they are Muslims and the Prophet's followers.

Peace be with you.Muslims: Is it haram for us to alter the color of our hair?
It's not haram, sahabah did it using henna.

Whether it is or isn't I know many who do.
no i dont think so
According to Quranic Scripture Allah SWT says, I have given you abondance those of you who go to Jummah ( friday prayers ) there is no harm for you to better yourself for my pleasure.

As long as the intention is pure, and your not doing it for the sake of desire..... what is the intention of coloring the hair is the Question and if you get that then you have the answer easy..

Salam
Men cannot use black dye since it is a form of deception.

Using black to cover Grey hair is deceiving people as to our actual age.

Red henna can be used.

Hey! I want to alter this image online...(hair swap)?

I have an image of myself and image of another person, i want to somehow take the hair off the other person and put it on me so i can see how the style would look on me. I dont have any spensive programs and it dosent even have to look all that good, just want something quick' n easyHey! I want to alter this image online...(hair swap)?
Right click the image and select ';Open with...'; and select 'Paint.' On the Tool Box, select the one on the top left (';Free-Form Select';). Then going in a clockwise manner, click on the outline of the hairline (the outside line) and continue around all the hair. Then just drag what you have just selected to your head, and align it. If you want to drag it to a different picture, you have to copy (%26lt;Ctrl%26gt; + %26lt;C%26gt;) and then open the pic of you that you want to put it on, with paint, then paste (%26lt;Ctrl%26gt; + %26lt;V%26gt;) and then align it. If you do it on 2 diff images you will most likely have to resize the selection. simply drag the small blue box on any corner and resize it.

~hope this helps~ :-)Hey! I want to alter this image online...(hair swap)?
try just cutting it out of the picture and pasting it on your head using the paint program.

  • What happens if you no longer fancy most men because they alter their body hair?

Yes, it's another blog about body hair but this is my first. I really, really hate trimmed pubes or waxed bottoms (not to mention chests) on guys. Puts me off totally, and this is all I encounter these days. I'm 39, good-looking, single and up for fun, but I feel like my sex-life is hereafter confined to watching 1970s porn films (whose stars would never have dreamed of pubic topiary). I know it sounds silly but I need to talk about this and mostly can't to friends. I never realised I had a bush fetish until it started to disappear maybe ten years ago - hair down there used to be a nice, normal part of the package on grown men. Why has this changed, and what are we all trying to look like, lads? Get a hairy boyfriend, I've been told, but I dated a guy last year who said letting his body hair grow wild made him feel unsexy. Maybe airing all this online is pointless, as I'd prefer to march up and down Oxford Street wearing sandwich boards that read 'I want a man, not a picnic area'...What happens if you no longer fancy most men because they alter their body hair?
Sorry, but your post made me laugh, your prose is picturesque, inspired.

I think if you found True Love it wouldn't matter what the bush style was, if you were truly loved in return, the bush would be adapted to please you.

    Don't give up.

Start a Natural Pubes club, there might be others with the same likes/dislikes.

Whatever, good luck and thanks for the laugh.

PS. I'm not keen on the decorative shaving in your 'picnic area' either, but have attended to the odd wandering strand when wearing a swimsuit! What happens if you no longer fancy most men because they alter their body hair?
Daniel, being one of the more mature people on here, you should surely have realised that what is outside, is outside, and it's what the person has to offer from the inside that counts.

Surely respect, a sense of humour, decent personality, honesty and similar likes and dislikes are more important than a shaved or waxed chest and butt.

They are superficial, its the inside feelings that count, well for me anyways.

    Mike t.
I am sure there is a market out there somewere for what you want. You are not alone. You just have to find a way of finding likeminded people. How about advertising for people who like it 'natural'? What about certain magazines that cater for hairy people? Look on the internet, I am sure ther are people who share your tastes. Good luck.
you should grow up. at 39 i would expect you to have a little more depth. body hair is superficial - what's beneath it is not. if you no longer fancy a man because he trims or waxes, you have serious issues and are likely never to be satisfied.
awww you poor love :p *hugs*

i'm pretty sure if you look hard enough online there must be groups or something for this kind of thing, good luck hun xx

Why must women alter our body hair in order to be attractive to men, while men don't have to do a thing?

Really, we girls have to do A LOT of work just to get men to so much as blink in our direction.

And sure, some guys actually shave their body hair, but we have to shave like EVERYTHING lol, and we have to wax/pluck our eyebrows, we have to do spend hours every single morning to make our hair look perfect, we have to buy expensive clothing, put on makeup...Why must women alter our body hair in order to be attractive to men, while men don't have to do a thing?
um some girls like guys with hair and i know a lot of girls that shave and wax because they don't like the hair on their body not because guys want it and girls choose to wear make up and buy expensive cloths guy don't want that crapWhy must women alter our body hair in order to be attractive to men, while men don't have to do a thing?
    Obviously, because men are superior.

But seriously, you say women ';must'; do all this work to make themselves attractive, but all you're really doing is trying to live up to the standard of beauty you have made up in your head.

The media does have an effect on what you think what beauty is, seeing models with makeup and such, but why not just be what you want to be?

';I'd rather be proud of who I am, then desperately try to be something I'm not';-Immortal Technique
Uhm... actually no, you don't. Men will find you attractive regardless of what you do, what you are doing is competing against other women to be more attractive to men.

Women frequently make this mistake, we men find certain things more exotic, and attractive than others, but just the natural smell of a woman's hair is enough to attract a male if you get right down to it.

So, don't blame us for your plucking and all. We have to go get all sweaty in order to be attractive to you, so honestly i think you got the better deal, do you have any idea how much muscles ache?
Well I don't wax my eyebrows or wear makeup or expensive clothing. If guys (or people in general) don't like me b/c I don't put time into my appearance, then that's just too bad isn't it?? I do shave my legs cause my mum told me one summer I couldn't wear shorts until I shaved lol. But seriously people need to stop being so concerned about their appearance......
    I don't know. It unfair.

this is kinda weird, we were talking bout this in my class today, LOL.

I do shave and I groom but i don't bother with spending hours in front of the mirror, its stupid. I brush my hair, put on jeans and a T and i'm good to go. sometimes i put on eyeliner, but thats about it.

my mom makes me put dresses on sometimes, and do my hair and stuff, but i don't do it willingly.
you don't have to impress anyone by your looks, but your character and accomplishments. if guys don't care to give you attention it means your too good for them, or if its a Muslim, he would be probably following the advice of ';lowering his/her gaze';... it is just societal pressure i say... i really hate the world i live in... ask me any other questions ijaz-0_0@live.ca... Peace :D
Later in life, I'm going to get laser hair surgery, so literally NOTHING except for the hair on my head will have hair on it, yes including my genitals and eyebrows.

I will also wear goth makeup and do my eyebrows everyday

and crossdress, so there you go

    I'm a FREAK and I'm proud!
Women do it to attract Men...it's as natural as breathing...although some over do it...Men do it, Men work out to attract Women...where a certain style Hair Cut and wear certain Clothes...Both Sides appreciate the care and time put in to make themselves look good...
Ive had plenty of blinks my way WITHOUT all the work %26amp; 0 hours on hair and cheap clothing. I guess U DONT have 2 maybe people R just used 2 that? U know in some culture's its the MEN who go through all the hours of getting ready 4 the females!
I believe this dates back to the egyptian era. I remember learning something back in high school about how the egyptian woman we're big into ';beauty';. They wore makeup and perfume regularly. I think men have just adapted to liking shiney things.
I don't do it for them. I take care of myself the way I want.

I want to take care of myself AND look nice.

Is it bad that they want their chicks looking at least decent?
    It's their choice, really. I have never seen a man saying: ';She's got a nice fingernail set.';

Women bother about a lot of details which men don't even pay attention to.
Yes that is true, they expect us to be beautiful goddesses.

I do wish they can just accept us for who we are and let us just be dags.
there are more commercial/superficial images of females and what they should look like, than there are males.
It don't seem fair does it. Maybe thats why they pay for dinner and the movie, to help even things out.

Its also sad that they dont wear make up but still look good. Now I'm sad :(
that's all on y'all. america is the only country hung up on that. most european countries stay natural.
    Speak the truth sista!!

its crazy- there are men in New York drinking coffee telling us how to live. Meanwhile we are struggling for a penny to buy some eyeshadow.
    Natural is Beautiful :)
guys who are well groomed do!
You are welcome to stop shaving anytime you like.
It doesn't matter if a woman has body hair to me, I like a natural woman.

Because a lot of men are pigs.
Once again, Metal up your @ss is correct! =]
    Yes. its true.
idk... im not into girls anyways so i could care less what you do. if you wanna look like sasquatch go ahead.
i always wondered the same thing

I don't think I'd want a man that wears makeup...

Do stars do anything to alter there facial hair?? ?

Say Omarions dad only has a mustache and omarion was only able to grow a mustache is there ways that he could like get longer side burns or like a goatee. Me and my friend have this bet and i told him they can lol is it true?.Do stars do anything to alter there facial hair?? ?
That doesn't affect how you grow facial hair in any way at all. It's all genetics, example; girls go through puberty before guys, so often in sixth grade or around there, most girls might be bigger than the average sixth grade boy... I was like 90lbs in 5th grade.. im in 9th grade now and im 156lbs, everyone use to be bigger than me, now im a bit muscular. I know a junior who is huge and cant grow facial hair, yet i had to start shaving in the seventh grade. It just depends.Do stars do anything to alter there facial hair?? ?

  • Will Natural Instinct hair dye alter my natural color at all? I heard it's a temporary dye?

I've never dyed my hair and I like my color but I've always wanted to try something else, I don't want to permanently dye it because I know I'll never get my color back. If I use Natural Instinct, will it mess with my natural color? Or like it says will it wash out and go back to my natural? My hair color is a dirty blonde, I want to go dark brown..if anyone has used this product please let me know, thanks! Will Natural Instinct hair dye alter my natural color at all? I heard it's a temporary dye?
if it is an ';ammonia-free'; haircolor it won't alter your natural color. BUT, since your hair is blonde and you are wanting to try a dark brown, chances are it will not completely wash out. If you were keeping it within a few shades of your natural hair you would be safer. Even though it might say it is a semi-permanent color those darker brown shades seem to hold on and not completely wash out. If you are that concerned with eventually ending up with your natural hair back I would suggest choosing a color that will simply enhance your natural color.

So if I don't want to be'; blond';anymore, will changing my hair colour alter,..?

    my blond image?

will I attract more stable men?

    become a corperate queen?

    learn algebra?

well,..what can i look forward to besides no more blond jokes?

: )So if I don't want to be'; blond';anymore, will changing my hair colour alter,..?
it might alter your image to new people that you meet, but those you already know, know you, and they will treat you the same as always.

changing your hair colour might give you more confidence in yourself and that will come across to others.

just be yourself and good things will come to you. You can be that corporate queen if you want to no matter what colour of hair you have.

as for stable men - well - are there any?

and algebra is all greek to me and I am a brunette

and the blonde jokes - just learn to laugh at them and then people will get tired of teasing you

good luckSo if I don't want to be'; blond';anymore, will changing my hair colour alter,..?
i have known blonds before to go dark and its changed their whole personality some have even grown brains sorry erin that was a joke
    It's worth a shot! ;)
You can look forward to Burnett or red head jokes... if you couldn't get the job as a blonde i dont think you would have any more luck with a diferent hair tone.
sorry. you are who you are.

Can the genes/DNA be altered? As in changing the eye color, hair color, skin color, height, weight.?

What can and what cannot be done? Can the genes/DNA be altered? As in changing the eye color, hair color, skin color, height, weight.?
To answer your question directly - yes.

For the offspring (I'm not using child as this can just as easily apply to other animals, plants etc) when it is in single cell form, it is possible to map the entire DNA and change the bits you want.

For adults this will be much more troublesome, as eye color doesn't just change when you change the DNA - existing cells will not be able to take up the DNA. The eye must be removed, a new one with the right DNA created with a stem cell and inserted back. Quite fiddly.

So basically, this is doable in the future, but it will raise more ethical issues than science issues as we can potentially create super-humans.Can the genes/DNA be altered? As in changing the eye color, hair color, skin color, height, weight.?
Not right now, the current technologies do not allow that.

As I said, if someone does manage to map our entire genome, we could.

We have only begun to scratch the surface of human genetic engineering.

For example, we have exploited viruses to modify the DNA of a patient's cells in hopes of curing certain diseases (gene therapy). The process involves viruses that can perform reverse transcription and insert viral DNA into the host cellular DNA. This treatment has been pretty successful in helping people with cystic fibrosis.

However, something like weight is very complicated because it is affected by many factors. For instance, we have to find the gene(s) that are the key players for that certain trait. This task is no walk in the park (and that's an understatement). Even if the gene(s) were somehow unequivocally identified and located, we would have to find a way to specifically modify those portion(s) and only those portion(s).

We're not at the point at which we can confidently modify a zygote (or whatever) to produce the results we want. But bear in mind that we have already managed to genetically modify plants to make them more resistant to insects and weather. It's only a matter of time.

i used a permanent dye to lighten my dark blonde hair (natural) into a light blonde, but i want to get the dye out and change it back to my natural color. I really don't want to use another permanent dye to change it, so will a semi-permanent dye work to restore it back ro will the light blonde permanent dye eventually come back after the semi-dye fades? Is there any kind of hair dye besides a permanent one that can alter a permanent dye color into a darker shade

well in ur case, the only way to achieve getting ur natural hair color back is to either let it grow out without ever coloring it again or use a color remover called ';efasol';.. but be very careful if u are going to use this chemical- it works great but will leave ur hair feeling like straw!
    Non permanent hair dye dude.

    Black women altered hair?

now I'm all for self expression but do you think weaves look unnatural on some of us. I just think that our hair comes in all sorts of interesting textures yet we cover it up hence covering part of what makes us so unique and BEAUTIFUL.

What do you think? Black men what do you think of weaves (im talking about relaxers/texturizers too)Black women altered hair?
We put to much emphases on what people think about our hair. I really don't care.Black women altered hair?
I think it is a personal choice on behalf of the individual. If a white girl wanted to perm her hair and have an afro, I couldn't care less.

The girl is beautiful regardless of how she physically manipulates herself. If I find her to be physically attractive, a good conversationalist and kind then I would see her as being beautiful regardless of what she put on her hair.

It's like a mowhawk, but you can style it to look really cute. Yoanna, the winner from America's Next Top Model Cycle 2 got a modern mohawk and it looked really good.

How can u alter a hair follicle drug test?

I don't think there is any guarantee but I have heard that you can do malibu treatments. You can go to a salon and have them done or maybe even buy them. You may have to do more than one though. And in the mean time-STAY CLEAN!!!How can u alter a hair follicle drug test?
You can't. Drugs can be detected in your hair follicale much easier than blood or urine, and it takes far longer to rid it of the drug also. Example - with urine, if you smoke pot, you can stop a week or maybe less before the drug test and it won't be detected if you drink a lot of fluids, cranberry juice helps alot. But it will take months before it is unable to be detected in your hair follicle. How can u alter a hair follicle drug test?
Your best bet is to visit http://www.directdetox.com and stock up! There's some super stuff there that will 200% guarantee you pass your hair test. It works! I've used it! They also have home test kits so you know you are safe. There's stuff for random situations as well....nice family owned company. They ship overnight too!
As far as I know, you can't. Even if you bleach your hair, the evidence would still be there.
There is a shampoo, you can find them at some head shops.
cutting your hair might help...but it takes time and you have to stay clean. your hair essentially stores chemicals in it as it grows...so what you do as it grows kinda gets stuck in the hair like a timeline...kinda.

Can Perming Your Hair Permanently Alter Its Texture?

This question may sound ridiculous to some, but still...please don't be rude. I'm just searching for an answer so if you have one, that would be helpful. The reason I'm asking this question is because an aunt of mine relaxed (permed straight) her naturally tightly curled afro-like hair when she was young, and now, almost twenty years later, she is left with a completely different and un-natural hair texture. I guess the best way you could describe it as is “straight.” Not the nice and smooth kind, though. I'm talking about the kind that is dull, limp, lifeless, stringy, difficult to manage, etc. Kinda strange how that happened, huh? I guess what I'd like to know is...has this ever happened to you or anyone you know? Because from what I know, a perm is only permanent on the hair that is permed. The new hair that grows in is supposed to resemble the original texture of your hair. My aunt's hair proves otherwise, though. I’m a little afraid of perming my hair now. Could anyone please offer some kind of logical explanation to how this could've happened? Thanks in advance! Can Perming Your Hair Permanently Alter Its Texture?
I think no, as the chemicals are only doing their thing on the exposed hair and wouldn't be able to effect what's below the scalp, or what hasn't grown yet. My mother in law claims her husband's hair was made curlier after a perm in the 80's, and remains still curly due to that perm. That just isn't possible. She also thinks my twins came from her side! Hey, her son's sperm ain't that spectacular, causing me to drop two eggs! Can Perming Your Hair Permanently Alter Its Texture?
Well if your perming it straight...then it makes it like that...all crappy looking but if its curly it will look great and only stay in until your natural hair grows back and your natural hair wont change within your scalp.
it depends on ya hair type...but yes
Yeah, it'll only affect the hair that was permed. Any new growth will be healthy and normal.

CAN HAIR COLOR ALTER YOUR DRUG TEST WHEN YOU DO A HAIR STRAND TEST?

Yes, if you are referring to hair dye, and not your natural color.

Here is a study that was recently done:

Influence of the cosmetic treatment of hair on drug testing.

    Jurado C, Kintz P, Menendez M, Repetto M.

Instituto Nacional de Toxicologia, Sevilla, Spain.

Here is what they found: (I quote)

    ';In all cases the drug content in hair that had undergone cosmetic treatment decreased in comparison to untreated hair. ';

    The entire abstract is at:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query鈥?/a>CAN HAIR COLOR ALTER YOUR DRUG TEST WHEN YOU DO A HAIR STRAND TEST?
no. it is not the color, but the content of your hair that the results of your drug test are based on. with your theory, are you saying that all blondes pass and all brunettes fail? of course not. you need a proven solution to pass.

Does NATURALAXER really work? Does it permantly damage the hair or alter it?

I'm a hairstylist and just to let you know, all relaxers do permanently damage your hair. Until your hair grows out that is. It damages your hair because it changes your hairs bonds chemically. That's why after 48-72 hours you can wash your hair and the curl or wave will not come back. You're breaking the hairs bonds and you cannot connect them back together.Does NATURALAXER really work? How Can You Alter The Texture Of Your Hair?

I'm African-American. I Really Want To Turn My Hair From The Rough Nappy Hair To Smooth And Wavy Hair. Please Help! How Can You Alter The Texture Of Your Hair?
If by texture you mean the form of your hair, I think you'll have to resort to chemical products, like an anti-curl treatment or a straightener and then take care of your hair, you'll have to mousterie it with products and style it the way you want. I recomend that ypu gp to a salon and ask what process they recomend for your specific hair and after the process how you should take care of it.

Good luck girl! How Can You Alter The Texture Of Your Hair?
Yuko hair straightening is a process that retexturizes hair. Its quite amazing. I am not sure if it can be done on african american hair though. I do believe relaxing treatments are the best option for that. Go to a nice salon (toni%26amp;guy for example) and ask them about your options. A professional will give you the best opinion.
Texture cannot be changed, but it can be controlled. A relaxer is what you need, and product.

i have short hair, and im an athlete, so i was used to the ponytail to keep it out of my eyes. but really short hair definatly works for the i-dont-care-but-still-look-cute look. just have it a little longer in the back and make it messy. or if you wanted it to be nice straighten it. mines a little past my chin and i am still able to curl it!I'd like to get my hairstyle altered n i wud like a shortish hair cut, but i'm unsure wat wud work best?
Oh yes the bob which is longer in the front will be totally hot! and versitle. Just make sure the stylist usues the thinning sissors it will thin out the thick parts of your hair and it will fall beautifully! good choice.

How to alter your hair direction growth.?

im a male and i usually dont cut my hair for 2 months. as the 2nd month nears i let my hair start growing without any combing, were before i used to raise the front or something lie that. When i let my hair grow out without touching it it used to grow towards my eyes meaning that the hair from the right side of my face above my ear would grow towards my right eye covering the visible skin and it would do the same for the left side of the face. From left to the eye direction. I would let my ';bangs'; grow out and they would naturally curl towards the right. All of this worked out as it happened but just recently the hair on my sides started growing down rather than towards the eyes and i want it to grow towards my eyes because then it looks like i have a bowl on my head and my side hair has been parted which i dont want. I basically want my head hair to grow towards my face- from the circle on the back of my head going straight towards my eyes. Can anyone help me with this? How to alter your hair direction growth.?
You cannot change the pattern of your hair growth... but hair length (the weight of your hair) can work for you in trying to style your hair in the direction that you desire. You can use a grooming gel as well, to help hair stay in the direction your would like. How to alter your hair direction growth.?

  • Does aluminum foil alter the color of your hair when highlighting?

I am highlighting my hair tomorrow with the cap and hook procedure and the instructions say to use plastic wrap or aluminum foil on the un-highlighted hair to protect it from the highlighting creme if you don't want it highlighted. I was thinking.....could you wrap the foil around the strands that already have the creme on them? Just like in a salon? I'm only going to do this to the back section though. So my question is will the foil alter the color results?Does aluminum foil alter the color of your hair when highlighting?
yea you can wrap the strands that have the creme on it but it's hard to do if you dont know what your doing cause if you put the foil on wrong you can have spots. i would recommend for you to just do as they say it's much easier and you dont run the risk of getting your hair messed up or looking like you have patches.

When it rains, does your hair alter much?

Mine is naturally curly...and it stays that way.

:)When it rains, does your hair alter much?
Yes, mine turns into a giant mess of a frizz :(

Humidity does the same thing to it too. When it rains, does your hair alter much?
My hair is naturally wavy so I use product in it to make it look curly so when the rain hits my hair it does make it nappy and not how i fixed it when I left the house. I do have a friend who has naturally curly hair who likes it when it rains to make her hair more curly
oh yeah!! my hair is natuarally poofy/wavy/frzzy/curly...everything...we鈥?i got it chemically straigtened and so its straight everyday BUT when the rain gets on it and my hair starts to dry again, it turns into a MAJOR poof ball and gets all curly.

its basically like with a shower. If you curl your hair and take a shower, the curls will go away.
my hair doesnt really do that much, its naturally straight, it just makes it look not as smooth, and i get a cowlick in my bangs -___-
Hey even my hair is curly n it stay dat way only:)

Nope my hair is staight and stays the same when wet!

lol, yea it gets really frizzy
nope I put my hair up so it doesn't know what it is doing most of the time LOL

Would the course of British history have been altered if King Henry V111 had his wives wash their hair?

It is an historical fact, verified by ardouus research, that his royal majesty had a medical aversion to the common problem of dandruff. Two of his six wives he had beheaded for this outrageous lack of hygiene as he perceived this problem to be. Do you think that he overreacted? The cure for dandruff is hardly beheading is it?Would the course of British history have been altered if King Henry V111 had his wives wash their hair?
You are a troll. You aren't funny. Your claims, and your claim of ';ardouus research'; are crap.

Historical fact: Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard were beheaded for TREASON.

Historical fact: Dandruff wasn't an issue AT ALL until Head and Shoulders TOLD people they needed to NOT have it, in the 1960s/

Historical fact: NO ONE washed their hair in the 15th century. It simply wasn't done. It had nothing to do with ';hygeine';, a term, ALSO not coined until the 20th century.

Historical fact: in those days, people (well, royalty and the upper classes) didn't even often wear their own hair! Those paintings are of people WEARING WIGS.Would the course of British history have been altered if King Henry V111 had his wives wash their hair?
Wrong again, eh? King Henry VIII did not have an aversion to dandruff. Well, maybe he did, but that was not the reason he had two of his wives beheaded. Anne Boleyn was beheaded for high treason, adultery and incest, whereas Catherine Howard was beheaded for treason. Those were legit reasons, but a lot of people believe that what actually happened was that he found another woman and/or because they didn't produce him a son was why they were executed.
To be fair to old ';H';, shampoo technology hadn't developed to today's standards. But beheading certainly got rid of the dandruff, I'll give him that!

10 out of 10 for ingenuity for old lard guts.
You're wrong matey, they caught cold and sneezed so hard their heads fell off. Thats why to this day the English say ';find a head, and pick it, find the nose to fill with snuff .
As time goes by your so called questions are getting more ridiculous, if that's possible. Perhaps you could provide links to your knowledge of Henry VIII's other aversions.
No it wouldn't.Isn't this just the same re-worded question that you asked the other day?Yes it is,I remember being bored by it.
Hmmm, but all the portraits show the ladies wearing hoods and caps. Seems unfair to fault someone when their headgear is causing a skin malady.
Actually Henry cut his losses on his Royal Shampoo franchising
You keep asking this question. It wasn't funny the first time, and it isn't funny now. Give it a rest.

What kind of style I can wear for the summer. without heat or chemicals to alter my african american hair?

hair style that allows me to have waves curls and lots of body. What kind of style I can wear for the summer. without heat or chemicals to alter my african american hair?
If you don't mind having rollers in your hair for a few hours, you could try wet setting your hair. It'll make your hair super curly at first, so clip it up in a cute ponytail or bun until it falls. Once it falls you'll have sexy summertime waves and curls that'll stay nice in the heat (and won't fall as easy if you sweat!)

Or, you could do some cute cornrows or french braids. Here's a cute style from Seventeen magazine:

    shave it dude.
Curl ur hair with pins! Do the ponytail with side bangs!
Rollersets and braid outs are hairstyles that can help you achieve curls and waves that do not require heat that will damage your hair.
My granddaughter is mix, and she has very african hair. I think it would look really cute during the summer months to have it corn row. You could add really neat looking beads to add high lights to hair and clothes you are wearing. You can get a hair serm that help relax your hair somek, however it will wash out. Why not try puttling hair back into a pony tail and then twisting it into a neat bun. Add few beads, feathers,or even a touch of glitter. good luck

If you do opt on going natural, you'll need to make sure you have loads of moisture in the hair so it does not dry out...try weekly treatments and conditionning after each shampoo!

You can only dye them or the sun could brighten them. The only way the color can grow differently is if you become old and start to gray.Is it possible to alter the roots of my hair??
No, the only thing that will alter your roots is permanent hair color, dyes, and rinses. Once the new growth come in it's going to be your original color.
Sure, Let me pull them all out for you

Propecia affects hair growth, volume and weight ;not texture.

Studies have shown that men on Propecia tend to grow thicker hair- each hair follicle has more weight than before and more follicles grow out as noticed during actual hair counting.

So,if you had soft hair before,it will still be soft but thicker and if your hair was coarse it will still be coarse but thicker.Im taking propecia for hair loss, after a period of time will the overall texture of my hair alter,?

My hair is becoming more and more gray and I would like a hair color that will not alter my natural color but will cover the grey that grows in between highlighting.I would like a hair color that will not alter my dark hair, but will color the gray.?
Most grey hair is resistant and can't be colored without at least 20 volume peroxide mixed with the color. You can try to find a color that matches your own, mix with 20 volume and apply to your roots but it's going to be harder and more damaging for your hairstylist to lift the artificial color out when doing your highlights.

Is it posible to alter the genetics of each individual hair cell so that hair will grow as the altered color?

Human hair is produced in a hair follicle. There are many cells that make up that structure.

    http://8e.devbio.com/article.php?ch=12%26amp;i鈥?/a>

So you want to change the DNA that codes for color, and perhaps for structure in each and every cell, and in each and every follicle? On the head only? What about eyebrows?

So how do we change DNA? One way is by a mutagen..... but such mutagens can be very dangerous (like radiation) and cause unwanted side effects such as cancer. In addition, mutagens do not just change a single gene, and certainly not one you want to target.

You want actually to do two things, turn off the existing structure/color gene and introduce a new structure/color gene.

I guess one could do this...make a synthetic DNA allele that is dominant for your color/structure, and somehow insert it into a carrier (like a bacterial plasmid), and somehow cause every cell of the human to be infected by the carrier (or just the cells of the scalp), and somehow incorporate that new allele into the DNA.

    A lot of somehows......

The answer is, no, it's not possible under present technology.

Does a perm permanently alter the texture of your hair?

I'm thinking about asking my hair stylist to give me a loose perm. What will one of these look like, exactly? And does a perm alter your hair texture forever? Thanks!Does a perm permanently alter the texture of your hair?
thats why they call it a perm. its forever, like a tatooDoes a perm permanently alter the texture of your hair?
Yes. Perms are perm-anent. And they do alter the texture of your hair, but not really toward the frizzy side. It softens.
Yes, but it doesn't effect the hair that has not grown yet.
It's temporary, actually - as soon as your hair grows out, it's going to steadily gain back its normal texture.

Your hair will have soft curls if you have a loose perm.

Short of laser-ing it off, just about anything you do to the hair on your head is temporary.
    anything chemical alters your body.
A perm will stay in your hair till you grow it out. It is basically like dying your hair. Officially, it is supposed to stay in till you grow it out, but that might differ between hair type. I once had a perm, but since my hair is so thick and heavy, it sort of straightened out again. As for the look, you can get different styles. If you find that it looks terrible, don't worry, as I said, it won't last forever. Just grow it out and start over.
I used to get a lot of perms. I don't think so. It's been years since I last had a perm. I've read and have experienced my hair changing textures over the years. I do color my hair professionally 3 or 4 times a year.

Talk to your hair stylist and see what her suggestions are. I would also look at hair books and magazines so you can have an example of what you are going after keeping in mind the kind of hair you have. Why do you want to perm your hair? You should tell your hair stylist your reason so she give you the best advice she can. I wish I had known this when I went for my first perm.

A friend of mine has very straight hair and perms would never last for her. She had to resort to using a curling iron. It would only last a day. She has beautiful hair.

If you are looking for more body or more waves - have you tried adding in some layers?

My hair is kind of straight but when I add layers - I get nice waves and a lot more body. That's why I stopped perming.

yes, it voids the test.Does bleach alter a hair follicle test?
no,there is no altering a hair follicle test.the only way to test negative is be negative and who ever tells you different is either full of it,or trying to sell you something!P.S. if you do something to void the test they will know that's what you wanted to do and shaving off your hair won't do because they are testing the follicle not the strand.if you can't get clean long enough to test, than you need to consider re-hab to help you with the process of getting clean
I don't think so if it did more people would try that. Shaving all your hair off usually works. Good luck

    left side comb back

back of head combed to right

    right side combed forward

thus it wraps around your head
have a stylist use thinning shears to make your hair lighter, then use some very strong styling glue, like Ice for example.

Any chemical you use on your hair has the potential to cause damage. Have you thought about a texturiser? This might be milder on your hair than a relaxer. How do I alter my natural hair part?

I usually part my hair to the left. But I've been doing that so long that it's always flat on that side. When I try to part to the right, that side of the hair fluffs up because it hasn't been parted for so long. How do I change my part permanently to the other side? How do I alter my natural hair part?
next time you get out of the shower part your hair to the right like you want and use a flat iron to straighten your hair. If should flatten out for the day, eventually it will start to lay like that on it's own.How do I alter my natural hair part?
you should wash your hair, then part it to the right, then you should put it behind you ear if its long enough, then you can sleep if you wash your hair at night. But leave it there for a long time so it gets flat, like the other side.
Ok so first get a comb and comb you hair back with no part. Continue to do so until your hair doesn't fall back into the part. Then select the point at where you want to part the hair, then take the comb and part it. Comb it over and over, then take a soft brush and brush it down.

    Good Luck!

take a rat tail comb and make a straight line on your right side after showering. wait until it's a litte drier, now put some root lifter on your left side. Straighten your right side. gel and hairspray. continue for about a week. Now you should be perfect! works for me!
Just keep parting it on the other side. After a couple weeks you'll have a new ';natural'; part in your hair and it won't fluff up anymore. It will also feel unnatural if you try to go back and part it the old way again.
When your hair is wet, part it on whatever side you want and leave it, if it starts to go back pull it back into a pony tail and then when it is totally dry take it out and do whatever. (This may take a few days)
Just keep parting it the other way, eventually it will lay that direction, try using hairspray. Also, brush and blow dry in that same direction, that should help.
Try this. Wash your hair. Then part it how ever you like. Then use a blowdryer and blow it dry while combing your hair and making sure that the parting is still in place.
take a comb thats toothed at the end and just run a line in the direction that you want it to go then let the parts fall in place and TADA!!!
always part it after taking a shower. use gel for about a week and it will adapt to the other side.
thats why yo should immediatly part your hair after a shower when its very wet. That way it can be how you want it.
    Part it to your right.

Natural way to alter my hair color?

I have auburn(ish) hair with some (not alot) red highlights (all natural). Is there something I can do to enhance the red in my hair? I've heard vinegar works, but I'm sceptical. Does anyone know how I could bring out the red, without actually using dye on my hair.Natural way to alter my hair color?
I have natural red highlights to...and one way i have seen is the sun...and to make them even more apparent buy john freida beakc blond stuff...Im sorry Im not more helpful about that, but I bought it...its yellow and its just a gel...and put it on your hair then sit in the sunlight...it worls like a charm.Natural way to alter my hair color?
Use the pantene pro-v red expressions shampoo (its meant for red heads but it might work on your highlights)
If you can find natural Henna---that works!
spraying 1 part lemon juice (not the bottle because that has icky preservatives), 1 part chamomile and 1 part water into your hair and combint it through helps, chamomile brings out your already existing highlights while lemon creates more and subtly lightens your hair. i've never heard of vinegar but that messes up the acidity of your hair as does hair dye so i dont recommend it. sleeping with henna in your hair will give red highlights. sun in is not as natural but may give an orange look as it is for adding blonde to your hair. hope this helps good luck!
sunlight can make your hair more vibrant.
now they sell henna har color that is totally natural or if you want redish hair use pure cranberry juice mixed with little water in a spray bottle and spray generously or if you want natural highlights take a lemon and sqeeze he juice though all o your hair and sit out in the bright sun for an hour it really works!

Why do I have wiry hair? Is it genetics? Can medication alter hair?

I'm asian and I have black hair and I've never colored it before. When I was younger, I had straight hair. Now, I have wiry hair. Is it genetics? My mom has it too. Or can it be the fact that I took acne pills, accutane that caused drying in my body to cause wiry hair? I';ve been off the medication for 3 months though. Please let me know. Thanks! Why do I have wiry hair? Is it genetics? Can medication alter hair?
It's genetics, and obviously, if your mother has it, you didn't get it from acne pills.

Curly hair is dominant, but I have noticed that hair isn't finally determined until you have finished growing up. The shape of the follicle (out of which each hair grows) seems to change slightly. When the shape is round, the hair comes out straight. When it is more oval or flattened, the hair is curly. It is quite like a noodle or pasta maker!

Can fish oil alter your hair texture?

I've been taking fish oil for about 2 or 3 months and have noticed a change in my hair texture. I normally get my hair relaxed and it has been about 4 months since my last relaxer. The new growth of my hair seems to be coming in straighter. Does this have something to do with the fish oil? I'm taking the fish oil for other medical reasons. Can fish oil alter your hair texture?
idk...hmmm........they say oil does make your hair healthier......maybe you should ask your doctor?

  • Semi-Permanent Hair Dye Altering My Hair Color? ?

I've been wanting to dye my hair brown for a while, just to change it up a bit, but I love my hair color now. I've heard that when you use a semi-perm. dye (the ones that come out in like, 10 washes) Will alter my hair color, is that true?Semi-Permanent Hair Dye Altering My Hair Color? ?
Whether it is permanent or semi, you are adding pigment to your hair, of course, it will change your color a bit, even if you use the same color as your hair. It will enhance the color, give it more shine and texture, hopefully. Try ';Natural Instincts, it works well.

Will dying my hair alter the natural curl?

my hair is cute, i love the texture of it, i have spiral curls that arent too loose or too tight. i am considering dying it (from dark blonde/light brown to an auburn or really dark strawberry blonde) but if dying it will alter the natural curl pattern i dont want to do it?

does anyone know what will happen? Will dying my hair alter the natural curl?
eventually the chemicals will take their toll on your hair..but i wouldnt think theyd cause a big difference. my straigthen and dye my hair and (my hair was super curly! like..people used to call me sherly temple :/) and now it wont curl anymore. its probably because of straightening but...idk....it might O.o

Generally, how long does it take to transition from chemically altered hair to natural hair?

like what kind of things do you do,how to treat it in the mist of it changing over time. changing over time as in it gettin' kinky and the relaxer is beginning to grow out. etc.Generally, how long does it take to transition from chemically altered hair to natural hair?
It depends on how long your chemically treated hair is, and what you want to do with your natural hair. If you do the ';big chop'; (meaning cut off all of your chemically treated hair) you can transition in an instant. But if you want to grow out your chemically treated hair, and trim it off as the new growth comes in, it will take you longer. As you transition, be sure to keep your hair well moisturized to reduce breakage. For tips on transitioning, read the article ';Three Ways To Transition From Relaxed Hair to Natural Hair'; at http://natural-black-hair-care.info/thre鈥?/a>

Should Pakistan demand that Daryle Hair Apologise for altering the drug samples?

obviously as Pakistan never cheats this is a white racist plot, obviously this is D.Hairs fault. Pakistan need to demand D.Hair's resigantion untill he stops tampering with the drug samples.

Pakistan never cheats it is all a white plotShould Pakistan demand that Daryle Hair Apologise for altering the drug samples?
I think he should also apologise for when Pakistan bowl wides or no balls. I think probably the problems they have experienced with travel arrangements in the past were his fault as well. And don't get us going about how he is responsible for poverty in Africa! Blo*dy Aussie umpires!!Should Pakistan demand that Daryle Hair Apologise for altering the drug samples?
    Bloody Hair......he`s at it again!!
players cheated...not pakistan!! when shane got caught, did anyone say that australia has cheated?? a plyer's act cannot be labeled on the whole team n the nation!! did u find any 1 saying that Argentiana or USA cheated when MAradona n Asafa Powel were caught!! Though i dont have any sympathy with akhtar n asif now!! coz whatever they did was bad and has badly tarnished the natios'a image and ofcorse apkistan r the least favorites in the cup and atleast for a period of one year, i cant se pakistan on the top!! but again, it were the 2 players, who cr reported to be cheating, not the team!!
Dope Test was carried out by Pakistan Cricket Board and I do not know what role Umpire Hair has in that. It is totally unfair to guess things without any proof.
sorry could not understand u well!!
Still upset about the whole Darrell Hair, and Inzi thing are we .?HA HA HA

,but you better lose that attitude or else you'll be known as a P!$@k all your life.Think twice about calling someone a Paki, because you'll lose your front two teeth.

    P.S....I'm Indian and I don't like beeing compaired to a pakistani,they give us a bad name!TSK TSK(N@B)
Players have tarnished the image of Pakistan.Pakistan has not cheated %26amp; the country should not be blamed for the such act done by any individual.
this is just sour grapes because pakistan players got caught out in the drugs tests sure have a dig at daryl hare but he had nothing to do with the drugs tests just the ball tampering against england .
Who says they cheats. Actually they are teacher. They've has taught many tricks to cricket world. How to temper ball, how to pressurise umpires and how to take drugs. Poor Daryle Hair is the only one who is wrong and all the Pakistani are pak saaf.
Give over!!!! Hair was in strife not because of the call about ball-tampering , rather for ending the match over the dissent of a team unhappy with the run fine he meted them. Besides cricket is cricket and you need the Pakis,Indians,W Indians,S Aficans, Zimbab, N. Zeds ,Aussies, Sri Lanks and the bloody poms or it's not the same!!! sorry if I missed any.

As for the drugs...two players in a side does not comprise an entire nation..............Play fair or,

    ';It's just not cricket';
hair was monitoring dope collection process coz he enjoys it and collecting dope samples in jars all by himself...
ohh did u try to be funny or wht? okay we laughed !!! anything else u want to show? we admit u r a great joker .......now buzz off!!!

    stupid !!!

two players never represent the whole team.or whole nation....it was their personal act !!! try to come up with something positive or sensible atleast :S

Does bleaching hair alter it & how do you do it?

I wanted to bleach my hair with hydrogen peroxide. What I wanted to know is if the BS im hearing about it is true. Ive heard that if you beach your hair then its narutal color is going to change (i have dark-brown hair naturaly in the winter and it burns out to a slightly dirth blonde in the summer). Also, ive heard that in order for me to bleach it, I have to put on the peroxide and walk out into the sun with it on. I really doubt thats true....Does bleaching hair alter it %26amp; how do you do it?
My My My, this question has provoke some answers, and I think some are rather funny and absurd.. Okay so You wanna bleach your hair, that is the first part of your question, and you wanna do it with hydogen peroxide, (H2O2).

Bleaching your hair is totally possible, but with H2O2 by itself, not so possible. Your natural color doesn't change, at least the color that will grow back out, however, it will change as you age, could go darker, or even lighter to more of a shade, oh lets say, GRAY or White...LOL...

You say your hair BURNS OUT ( interesting choice of words) from a dark brown to a slightly dirty blond..This is cause you hair is not holding on to the dark pigments in your hair. which is ready for this, Blue...yeppers that is right you have blue in your hair if it is dark brown..at least One pigment of it, but that is another lesson, different question, anyway you get my jest right your hair isn't holding to the pigment that keeps it dark...You must have fine textured hair, use a shampoo with a higher than needed pH, and live in a place that the sun is intense...either way, you go to a slightly dirty blond...which tells me you will bleach out rather easily...

Next you say you heard that going out side with H2O2 on your hair and allowing the sun to shine upon your head will bleach your hair, Well, you were right on targe with the bull sh-t meter there my friend, that isn't gonna happen either...

Okay I have read some of the answer you have, and I want to correct a few of those before you start believing in some more bull sh-t,

The peroxide at the stores that you buy in the little brown bottle to clean cuts with is only maybe 3% and is not for hair..

We in a salon use 3% to dye eyelashes with cause it will not blind you just cause a little discomfort and we can get it out by flushing the eyes rather rapidly...

It is not 10% like one of you responders had said..

At a salon we do use 10%,20%,30%,40% and 50%, they each have their own use when it come to tinting the hair or acutally bleaching the hair..

One of your responders did tell you that to bleach your hair you must add a powder lightner to the H2O2, she is absolutely correct. In order to bleach a lightner must be added..the percentage of the H2O2 that is use is determined by how dark your hair is, and the texture of it, One of the things I look at is the eyes of the client, If you have light eyes, and fine texture hair, you will bleach out really fast, and I would use a lower % of H2O2...this prevents damaging the hair...

You also had a responder tell you you would probably more than likely turn your hair to a brassy orange before it turns to a nice yellow, Again she is probably right cause since you have dark brown hair, you are going to remove that blue pigment I told you about and that will live you with 2 orange, and 3 yellow left in your hair, with is gonna be orange. You have to bleach past those 2 little orange pigments if you don't you will hate it, This is where most ppl get scared and stop the process. Even hairstylist get scared at this point cause they don't have enough chemisty background or understand color as well as they should, but of course they want the money...

Okay So let bleach your hair, How to do it

First go to sallys beauty supply, they are the only one that is going to sell you what you need in a professional formula..

    Here is what you get

Basic White, (that is its name)it is a powder

30 Vol H2O2 (creme not Liquid) this is important

    mix them in equal portions

for example, 1oz of H2O2 to 1oz of powder

apply it to your hair ends, oh lets say for about 20 minutes, you should see your hair turn to an orange, slightly yellow, more of a golden, then go in and apply the rest to the hair closest to the scalp, now why do it this way, cause if you apply the bleach to the hair at the scalp the heat from your head will process that hair long before the other is processed and you hair will and I mean WILL come out uneven in color and it will burn your scalp if left on too long...chemical burns are not nice.

Now this is if you want the all over bleach blond bombshell look, if you only want highlights, asks the sell clerk at sallys to tell you where the bullseye marks the spot caps are, then you can pull your hair through the cap, bleach what you pull through and be done with it, no, taking sections or worry about leaving it on your scalp too long...

after you have bleached your hair you will need a toner, I would choose one that has a violet base, as this will neutralize the rest of the yellow out of your hair, and leave you with a really nice blond...

You will need to buy a small bottle of that 10% H2O2 I mention earlier, so as the toner will deposit into your hair..cause that is what 10% does, it only deposit it doesn't lift color.....

Good luck, Oh one more thing if you have any more questions about hair or color feel free to email me at

JenesisHairSalon@aol.comDoes bleaching hair alter it %26amp; how do you do it?
I think that is BS and would probably dry your hair out really bad. If you want to bleach your hair get a bleaching kit or go to a pro.

    Good luck
For starters, you mix the peroxide with powder lightener.

You do not walk out in the sun, your scalp's heat does all the work.

It will damage your hair, as it strips all the natural melanin from your hair, leaving you with what will most probably be a yellow/orange result as your hair is darker.

I would highly reccommend that you go to a salon as most home bleach jobs turn out horrible.

If you insist on doing it at home.

Apply to the ends and midlengths first, 25mins later, the roots.

And i'd also suggest buying a toner.
hydrogen peroxide- let's learn about the bleaching abilities of the hairdresser's best friend!

According to the London Science Museum the chemical is present at low strength in the air, rain and, mildly concentrated, in ice. The hydrogen peroxide in the air is apparently responsible for the ';brilliant finish'; given to cloth hung outside on a frosty day. The powers of hydrogen peroxide were originally ';discovered'; by Louis Auguste Thenard in 1818.

It remained ';just another chemical'; to the everyday schmoe until 1867 when E.H Thiellay, a pharmacist and perfumer of London, and Leon Hugo, a Parisian hairdresser, banded together. They created ';Eau de Fontaine de Jouvence Golden'; (which Babelfish translates as ';Water of Fountain of Youth Golden Delicious';), a 3% solution of the chemical. And hair bleach was born and became popular...

... at the same time that hydrogen peroxide was experimented with for use in military matters: The chemical was used in submarines and as a fuel for torpedoes and rockets in World War II. It has also been used, and continues to be used, as a bleaching agent for textiles (such as wool and silk) and paper.

But hydrogen peroxide remains most famous for its hair-bleaching abilities. The industry is a multi-million dollar one, and over $1 billion dollars is spent on home hair color in the US per year.
peroxide at home is the same as 10 volume at a beauty store...without the activator it will work really slow...which is why going in the sun or using a hairdryer...the heat will activate it..thought it will probally dry before it does much...any bleach removes pigment from your hair...so depending on what you start with...what tones you have in your hair depends on what color you will end up with....if you are dark brown you probally have orange or red tones...so that means you will end up brassy long before you turn blonde...chances are you will just dry out your hair ....and not achieve much more than a few subtle brassy highlights since 10 volume is not what is used to achieve highlights in a salon...they use between 30 and 40 volume or the high lift series from makers such as Joico
dont dye it have a stylest do a hair doer person at a slyon and u want it deep conditioning treet ment and thats true what u heard but not the right name.
Oh my god. Go to a real hairstylist please. Bleaching it with peroxide will ruin your hair. You are not going to get the results you want.
Your natural color doesn't change, but it does STRIP your natural color from the existing growth. You'll only get your natural color back when it grows out -- you can't ';unbleach it,'; you can only dye on top of the bleached parts. Some people think the bleach has ';changed their color'; because it takes a while for the hair to grow back and hair color just changes as we get older. You should not use hydrogen peroxide to bleach your hair. #1, it's unpredictable. #2, it has ABSOLUTELY no conditioning agents. Just go to the drugstore and by a bleaching kit. At least there are proper instructions and you sort of know what you're going to get. Plus those kits come with conditioners. Bleaching dries out your hair. You will also want to get ';for color treated hair'; shampoos and conditioners which also help with keeping your bleached hair soft.

  • Is it possible to alter hair genetically?

I have very curly hair and I've tried chemical straightening and a straightener but I'm tired of using those, I want to know if genetics has come so far as changing hair texture to that of an Asian kind of look.Is it possible to alter hair genetically?
A: No. Genes are your programming, and it would be foolish to let amatures, (the best scientists in the world) screw with them. B: Your hair's texture is great the way it is, else you would have been born with different hair.

Can dying your hair alter your hair texture?

I have black colored hair but I want to dye my hair a darker black. Can dying your hair alter your hair texture?
When you dye your hair, it tends to thin out and become uber dry. Though if you dye your hair maybe once, it's not that bad. But yes, it's alters your hair texture, and sometimes your hair will become frizzy. Can dying your hair alter your hair texture?
Chemical processing expands the hair shaft making it thicker and in some cases frizzy.
It tends to dry your hair out, but I think it's worse if you go lighter because of the bleach
My person experience - my hair texture changed. But there are product to use to treat dyed hair.

How do I turn my kinks into curls without chemically altering my natural hair?

    Hi,

I am of African and Native American descent. I have different hair textures: 3c in the front and sides of my head, and 4a and 4b in the top and back of my head? What are some products that I can use to make my hair feel softer and manegeable?

ThanksHow do I turn my kinks into curls without chemically altering my natural hair?
Make sure you condition a lot and also use a leave in conditioner or detangler. For styling you can use the shingling technique with hair mayonnaise or a thick curl pudding. The product weighs your hair down and stretches it turning your kinks to curls....you can also use the product to do two strand twists and sleep in a satin night cap...take the twists out in the morning. Your hair will feel soft, manageable and the style will last for about a week. How do I turn my kinks into curls without chemically altering my natural hair?
Sorry to say there is nothing that you can do to change the texture of your hair without chemicals.

You can try setting it on rollers, but you need to be very sure to get the hair around the roller very smoothly and evenly, especially the ends. And you need to get it completely dry before brushing out. That will temporarily change the structure of the hair, until it gets moisture in it again. At least, it will keep your hair under control for a short time.

To have something more permanent, you will have to chemically restructure you hair. It's not the complete answer, for you will still need to set it, but it will be easier to do.

Your alternative is to find a style that will work with YOUR hair the way it is now, and that you can maintain easily. That will take some work, but is worth it. Consult with a professionally trained hair stylist that works with African-American hair who understands what can be done with it. They may also have some new ideas for you to try out.

In the meantime, you want very healthy hair. Be sure you are well physically, and that you use good products. You want moisture in your hair, not oil, and then good styling products to keep it under control. Ask at the professional shop.
what you could do is this, grease your hair heavily and put it in plaits, NOT CORNROWS, all over your head, leave it like this for a few weeks or a month, and dont wash it. The take it out and you'll have pretty waves.
Hi, so am I, i press it with a flat iron. I don't use any chemicals becuase my hair is too fine for them, and they just flatten it.

Is there any way of changing my hair style without altering the length too much?

I've got hair thats about an inch below the shoulders, cut into layers with a side fringe. But im kind of bored of this haircut and want something new, whilst keeping the length as i'm growing it out. Is there anything i can do or should i just wait till it grows long?Is there any way of changing my hair style without altering the length too much?
when i get bored with my hair i color it. it saves me from cutting it. use a semi perm. color so you dont damage ur hair too much thoughIs there any way of changing my hair style without altering the length too much?
sure u can change the color, have highligths, change ur haircut(quiff, bangs(side bangs or layers)),try to curl ur hair, gel etc
You can go to any beauty supply store( sally's beauty supply if you know of a close one) and get some clip in extensions. Jessica Simpson has a good line that clips right in for an instant change without it being permanent.
You could always go for a mullet.

bussiness in front, party in the back.

Or you could change where the part is.

and there is always the wonderful option of taking a large curling iron to it. simply curl the ends up.

or you could crunch your hair into waves buy either going to bed in braids waking up in waves. Or shower, then rub gel through your WET hair and make crunching motions in your hair with your hands, using a defuser to blow-dry your hair. It will come out in perfect waves. =D

if your still bored add some high-lights.

    dye your hair tips..

    Or just grow it out.

    -good luck
purms or color changes. you can also get a straightener. you could also do something like get a hair clip and put it up every day. Ask your hairstylist for more advice, because well she can see your real hair! :D
240 volts straight out of the mains should give you an interesting new hairstyle with no cutting required and apart from a few bobs worth of lecky it`s virtually free...PLUS...you do not even have to leave your room.

Hows that for a top Christmas Party tip ?
why dont you try a full fringe? =)

or you could get it more choppy!?

or even flick it out at the bottom?

or get your heir to sit in a ';V'; or ';U'; shape at the back?

    im sure youll find something!

    good luck x x

Why is altering your hair only a big deal when black women do it?

Mostly all women alter the natural state of their hair with flat

    irons,curling irons,straighteners,curlers,hair dyes and other

chemicals yet only when black women do it is it a big deal,

    why is that?

Why is altering your hair only a big deal when black women do it?
History. For a long time natural curly black hair was considered ';bad'; (It still is in many places). You can see evidence of this not only in the black culture during slavery and segregation, but right after as well. Do you think the Afro-centric movements of the Civil Rights Era kept their hair natural by accident? It was an act of defiance against what they saw as a form of institutionalized prejudice against natural black features. The early negative depictions of the hair of black women, followed by the backlash against the negative view, created the situation that we have today. It gets more attention that it should. I agree that it's not fair, but there are much more egregious injustices in this world to worried about. Why is altering your hair only a big deal when black women do it?
    I'll breakdown why this is:

    - The history of other women altering their hair is not like black women nor does it have to do with being demeaned and having self-hatred (perms/relaxers)

    - Black women are basically putting the equilavence of Liquid Draino in their to make it straight (similar to white women) and yet when was the last time you seen a mass of non-black women walking around with afros and afro wigs?

    - No one alters their hair more than black and to the extent that black women do it

    That's why
To be honest, in my experience I've seen the OPPOSITE to be true. I'm not black or white, but I live in the South and I've seen that black women make a bigger deal about other black women's hairdo's than white women do. (I think it's because white people are scared to offend black women....still kinda awkward for non black people to talk about black people regarding their hair. I'm Asian and even I try not to discuss hair much because a lot of black women have joked around about me being ';lucky'; for having ';good hair';....and the first time I heard this I really didn't know what to say, because God made me this way and God made them a certain way and it didn't make sense for them to like my hair better than theirs! Til I learned about the history of it all.....) And when a white woman changes her hair, both black and white women say something.

That's just been my own opinion.
    People always have something to say about Black women and our hair. I think Natural sistas get more crap because all of the crazy misconceptions about curly black hair....I'm natural but right now I'm wearing a weave..and when i have my hair in a natural style, at school people would call my hair nappy and said I was an ';slave';
Why is everything always a big deal when black women do it?

Seriously, are anyo of the rest of you black women out there tired of feeling like the hottentot venus (i.e. like a sideshow freak on display for everyone to gawk at and criticize)?
I don't know why it's a big deal to some people. But there are plenty of people that seldom (if ever) think about what black women do to their hair. I am one of them. It's their hair.
I've noticed this latley on c%26amp;g, I don't know why.

Its stupid though, I'm white and cannot think of the last time I wore my hair natural!
i dont know why but it gets on my nerves!
