Will demi-permanent dye alter my thin brown hair after it has washed out?

I have very fine darker brown hair but wait to dye it with a demi-permanent dye. Will this be bad for my thin hair? Also, will it COMPLETELY wash out over time, or will it have slightly altered my hair color?Will demi-permanent dye alter my thin brown hair after it has washed out?

Semi usually does not alter the color of brown hair, but it will be a while before it fully washes out because that is how it is made.
