Can dying your hair alter your hair texture?

I have black colored hair but I want to dye my hair a darker black.Can dying your hair alter your hair texture?
When you dye your hair, it tends to thin out and become uber dry. Though if you dye your hair maybe once, it's not that bad. But yes, it's alters your hair texture, and sometimes your hair will become frizzy.Can dying your hair alter your hair texture?
Chemical processing expands the hair shaft making it thicker and in some cases frizzy.
It tends to dry your hair out, but I think it's worse if you go lighter because of the bleach
My person experience - my hair texture changed. But there are product to use to treat dyed hair.
